Collections & Exhibits
Discover the stories that shaped Forney and Kaufman County through a mix of historic photos, artifacts, murals, and interactive displays. From early settlers to schools and railroads, our main exhibits follow the region’s development over time. Rotating exhibits in our multi-purpose room offer fresh perspectives and highlight unique themes or borrowed collections. Located in historic downtown, the museum is a community space dedicated to preserving and sharing local history with all.
Main Gallery
The Spellman Museum of Forney History collects and exhibits items related to the history of Forney and Kaufman County. Our main exhibits are semi-permanent and tell our story in roughly chronological order from Native Americans, early settlers, agriculture, transportation, schools and more using photos, murals, artifacts, and interactive exhibits.

Rotating Exhibits
We host additional exhibits on a temporary or rotating basis in our multi-purpose room. This offers a chance to display additional artifacts outside of the main gallery, usually centered on a theme. We also host borrowed or curated exhibits on a range of interesting topics.
”More Than Toys”
An exhibit of dolls on loan from FHPL member Telisa Spain. This vast collection includes antique dolls to pop culture collections, fashion dolls and accessories, Barbies, and many more. Includes exhibit guide.
