W.P. Newton of Kaufman county, charged with complicity in the James Peel killing near Seagoville some days ago, was brought in yesterday by Sheriff Cabell and locked up in the county jail. He will be given a preliminary hearing by Justice Edward S. Lauderdale Tuesday at 10 o'clock. George Hammill [Hamill], who was a participant in the shooting and badly wounded by shots from Peel's pistol, is under arrest. He will be brought to this city when his physician pronounces him out of danger. |
