After several weeks' sickness, W.J. Stovall, one of the early pioneer settlers of Kaufman county, died at his home near Forney on Monday, February 17, 1913, and was buried at Forney Tuesday afternoon. His only sister, Mrs. J.T. Lyon, of Arlington, was at his bedside two weeks before his death. Rev. Jenkins, pastor of the Baptist church, officiated at his funeral. Deceased leaves two children, Mrs. O.P. Farmer, of Forney, and W.N. Stovall, of Dallas, and one sister, Mrs. Lyon, of Arlington. Mrs. Jennie Davis, Misses Mattie and Luie Lyon and Mr. W.R. Mayes attended the funeral from Arlington.
Note: William J. Stovall is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born February 2, 1855 and died February 17, 1913.
