Perry Fowler Shipley

Perry Shipley, 69, of 3527 James Drive, retired barber, died here Monday.

Shipley was born in Forney and had lived in Dallas for 42 years.

He was a member of the James Ladd Burgess Masonic Lodge and the Urban Park Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite.

Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. O.R. Jones of Mesquite; nine brothers, Gordon Shipley and Rosco Shipley of Dallas, Dennis Shipley of Sunnyvale, Austin Shipley and Luke Shipley of Forney, Harry Shipley of Waco, Joe Shipley of Mesquite, Dick Shipley of Victoria and Frank Shipley of California; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Hatley and Mrs. Lottie Shook of Forney, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Note: Perry Shipley is buried next to his wife, Laura Usrey Shipley, in Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. He was born February 18, 1901 and died July 6, 1970.
