Hudgens Townsend, a former Forney resident, died in a Terrell nursing home early Saturday morning. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.

Burton Hudgens Townsend, a son of the late Silas B. Townsend and Gracie S. Patton Townsend, was born in Forney on March 5, 1922. He grew up in and near Forney and moved to Terrell with his family in 1948 and to Greenville in 1960. He had been a resident of Terrell for the past four years.

He was a member of the Ardis Heights Baptist Church of Greenville.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruby B. Lindsey of Greenville and Juanita Wade of Abilene; two nephews, Don Lindsey of Terrell and Richard Lindsey of Tyler; four nieces, Nell Krodle and Dell Millard, both of Greenville, Betty Dillard and Bonita Gay Porter, both of Abilene; and other relatives.
