Reburial services for T/4 Hubert Lee Chapman, 21, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church in Forney. Burial will be in Forney Cemetery.
Chapman was born in Forney where he attended the public schools and played high school football. For a few months after his graduation, he worked for the National Biscuit Company in Dallas.
He entered the army in February, 1942, and trained at camps in North Carolina and Florida. A radio operator with an infantry detachment, he was killed in France Nov. 24, 1944. He was awarded the Silver Star posthumously for gallantry in action.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Silvaner Chapman of Forney, and a sister, Mrs. Roy E. W. Johnson of Dallas.
Note: Hubert Lee Chapman is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born April 27, 1923 and died November 24, 1944 in France.
