George Anderson Ritchie, 72, of 3509 Brown, a retired carpenter, died in his home Monday after a brief illness.
A native of Forney, Kaufman County, he lived there for many years until he moved to Dallas in 1942.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Jack Ritchie of Amarillo, and Carl Ritchie and Ray Ritchie, both of Dallas; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Copeland of Mesquite, Mrs. Inez Ball of Garland, Mrs. Carrie Goolsby and Mrs. Dorothy Allen, both of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Paul Hamilton of Terrell; a brother E.T. Ritchie of Lockhart, Caldwell County, 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in North Dallas Baptist Church, 4231 Maple, of which he was a member. The Rev. L.C. Craig and the Rev. L.B. Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.
Note: George Anderson Ritchie is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born 23 June 1886 and died 27 Apr 1959.
