Miss Alice Stevenson, of 4835 Gaston Avenue, a Dallas resident for 50 years, died Thursday morning in a Dallas hospital after a long illness.
Born in Henderson County, Miss Stevenson was a voice teacher, in her early years, at the Institute for the Blind in Austin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Jane Douglas Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was actively interested in Buckner Orphans Home.
Surviving is a sister, Miss Ruby Stevenson of Dallas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the George A. Brewer Funeral Home, 3603 Ross. The Rev. Walter W. Johnson, of the Northridge Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Forney. Pallbearers will be Arthur Vardell, Emery Williamson, H.H. Kinzy, Glenn Matthews, Steve Vardell, J.R. Gaddis, Grover Green, and Joseph M. Avenill.
Note: According to the Texas Death Index, Alice died October 15, 1959 in Dallas County.
