Mexia, Tex., Oct. 3 - (Special) - A.M. Farmer, Jr., 37, prominent filling station operator, died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds at his home here late Thursday, according to Justice of the Peace Tom L. Cox, who rendered the coroner's verdict.
Farmer had been a resident of Mexia for the last twenty-five years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was an active member of Springfield Lodge No. 74, A.F. & A.M., and was a Lion Club member. Ill health was given as the reason.
He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter, Dannie, 8, and Mary Lou, 4; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Farmer, Sr.; two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Hinton and Miss Mamie Lou Farmer, all of Forney, Tex.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed, pending arrival of relatives.
Note: Andrew Jackson Farmer, Jr. is buried at the Mexia City Cemetery next to his wife Maureen Rogers Farmer. He was born in 1904 and died in 1941. A.J. was a 1922 graduate of Forney High School.
