Supplemented by records of the Forney American Legion Post; the Forney Messenger, 4 and 25 October 1945; and personal recollections of local residents, including Dan Taylor and Mick Spellman.

Costello, James J. Army PFC. B/O Miss Hanna Mae Costello. Attended St. Martin's Academy, Forney. Entered the Army February 1942. Trained at Camp Wolters, Texas. Served in the Aleutian Islands for 31 months and then in France and Germany. Awarded the Good Conduct and Expert Rifleman's Medals.

Creecy, Robert J., Jr. Army Air Corps 2nd Lt. S/O Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Creecy and H/O Martha Jane Duncan Creecy. Graduated from St. Martin's Academy, Forney. Enlisted in the Army Air Corps in May 1943. Received wings in Colorado, and B17 training at Hobbs, NM. Was a B29 pilot and was killed in an accident on November 10, 1944 in Clovis, NM.

Harvey, William Archie, Jr. Army SSgt. S/O W.A. Harvey of Forney. Entered the Army in August 1936, and trained at Ft. Sam Houston. In 1939, was in the 23rd Infantry and the 18th Infantry, 1st Division. In 1943 was in the 76th Division. Honorable Discharge in Boston, MA in 1944.
