The marriage of Miss Bettye Jean Taylor to James Coleman Mitchell was solemnized Saturday evening at the First Baptist Church, Forney, with the Rev. James Stanley officiating.

Mrs. W.H. Crawford was pianist and Mrs. E.J. Cole was soloist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Taylor of Dallas, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Mitchell, Forney.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of crystal-white lace over tulle and satin. It was fashioned with a fitted basque filled in with a portrait yoke of tulle, scalloped with lace.

The bouffant skirt of lace was scalloped in front to reveal a pleated tulle panel, and long sleeves tapered to petal points. Imported illusion veiling fell from a seed pearl tiara to the bride's fingertips. She wore a strand of pearls and carried a bouquet of white orchids.

Mrs. L.E. Wickham of Fort Worth was matron of honor and David E. Townsend of Forney acted as best man. LeRoy Mitchell and Wayne Tanner, both of Forney, were ushers.

During the reception held in the church, the house party included Mrs. David E. Townsend, Miss Ann King and Mrs. Douglas Freeman.

Following a wedding trip to Oklahoma City, the couple will be at home in Fort Jackson, S.C.
