Wednesday morning at ten o'clock at the St. Martin's Roman Catholic church, Irish Ridge, Miss Delia Higgins was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Thomas Denehy (sic), Father Patrick Long performing the service according to the rites of the church, assisted by Father Maloney, of Ennis. The bride and groom were attended by Miss Kate Higgins and Mr. Denehy. Immediately following the ceremony high mass was celebrated the bridal party partaking. The service over, the bridal party repaired to the priest's house and signed the register. From there they were accompanied by a large
number of friends to the home of Mrs. Kate Costello, aunt of the bride, where an elegant repast was served. The day was given over to merry-making and at night a dance was given. Mrs. Costello and family certainly did everything for the pleasure and comfort of their guests and as a result every one had a very pleasant time. The bride has resided in Forney several months and by her sweet and amiable disposition has ingratiated herself into the hearts of her many friends. The groom is a well-to-do farmer of that prosperous community. They have the best wishes of a host of friends for their success and happiness. |
