Woman Bitten, Looks for Dog
Denton Record-Chronicle
May 16, 1976

Coreen Spellman needs information in a hurry. She was bitten Wednesday by a large dog near the North Texas State University post office.

Her physician says that if she can't find the owner of the animal to determine whether or not it had received its rabies shots, then she must undergo the antirabies treatment.

Miss Spellman, retired from the art faculty at Texas Women's University, was planning to leave Thursday for a trip to Russia.

It is essential she locate the owner of the animal as soon as possible.

The animal which bit her was one of two large dogs leashed to a bicycle rack in front of the NTSU post office in the Union Building. It was described as "a large white dog, with some dark spots - not as big as a Great Dane but the size of a large German Shepherd," she said.

"I only want to know if the dog had received its shots. There is no thought of prosecution nor harm to the animal if it has been vaccinated," Miss Spellman said.

The owner, or anyone with information concerning the animal should contact Miss Spellman at 387-1744 or call Dr. Conrad Kinard.
