FORNEY, Tex., Nov 8 - Quite a row was up here Sunday night between the town boys and the negroes. Several of the boys went to the negro church for the purpose of breaking up the meeting. A row ensued between Albert Loveless, white, and Clarence Stephens, colored. Hot words were passed, Loveless, it is said, making threats against Stephens, whereupon Stephens drew a pistol, but an officer, who had heard the loud talking, got there in time to catch Stephens before any harm was done. He was bound over to the County Court and, failing to give bond, was taken to jail.

All the tramps seem to have intended to make Forney their headquarters this week. About meal-time they can be seen wabout the back door asking for something to eat.

All the fair visitors report a splended time during the fair at Dallas last week.

Cotton is still coming in at Forney at a lively rate. About 5000 bales have been received up to date.

The public schools at this place opened Monday, Prof. E.G. Lewis is principal and Miss Minnie Ledbeter assistant.
