George Anderson Jr., Forney resident, died in a Terrell hospital late Sunday evening. Funeral services and interment were held at the graveside at Hillcrest cemetery in Forney at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jerry Griffin and Rev. McClain Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home of Forney.
Mr. Anderson was born in Forney, Texas on March 23, 1920. He was a graduate from the Forney Schools and has lived his entire life in that city. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and was employed in Pipe Line construction work for a number of years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He was married to Bobby Jean Farmer on May 27, 1939 and to this union four children were born. Surviving him are: his wife, Bobby Jean Anderson, three sons, George Ernest Anderson of St. Petersburg, Florida, Richard Loyd Anderson of Forney, and Stanley Joe Anderson of Avalon, California; one daughter, Rebecca Douglas of Dallas; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Pansy Anderson of Forney; and other relatives.
