Ed W[illiam] (Scrappy) Morton, Forney resident, died in the Veterans Hospital in Dallas late in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 15. Funeral services were held from Forney at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home.
Mr. Morton was born in Forney March 8, 1917. He spent most of his life in Forney, Mesquite and Dallas.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving him are: one son, Ed W. Morton, Jr. of Mesquite; one brother, John Morton of Forney; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Brown of Forney and Mrs. Asa Shanks of Winnsboro; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
