Forney Pioneer Called by Death

FORNEY, Texas, Aug. 16 – W. A. Brooks Sr., 73, president of the Farmers National Bank of Forney and the Citizens National Bank of Crandall, died at his residence here at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.  Mr. Brooks, who had extensive real estate holdings in Dallas, Kaufman, Collin and other counties, had been a resident of Forney for fifty years.  He had been sick for several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church here at 9:30 o’clock Thursday morning.  Mr.  Brooks is survived by his wife, three children, W. A. Brooks Jr. of Dallas and Forney, J. K. Brooks of Forney and Mrs. Ellen West of Wichita Falls; a brother, Judge M.M. Brooks of Dallas, and five grandchildren.
