Miss Mary Ann Layden, resident of Forney for many years, passed away at her home here Saturday morning. Rosary was recited from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell at 8 PM Sunday. Requiem Mass was held at St. Martin’s Catholic Church at Talty at 9 o’clock am Monday with the Rev. C. Glogowski as Celebrant. Interment was in Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell. Miss Layden, a member of one of the pioneer families of the Irish Ridge, was born August 27, 1880. She grew up in that community. She moved into Forney forty five years ago. Miss Layden was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Surviving her are four brothers, Tom Layden and Mike Layden of Dallas, Dennis and Martin Layden of Forney, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Corbett of Forney and a number of nieces and nephews.

Requium Mass from St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Talty, 9 a.m. Monday, June 11 with Rev. Casimir Glogowski celebrant. Rosary will be recited at Anderson-Clayton Chapel, Terrell Sunday evening 8 p.m. Interment Oakland Memorial Park, Terrell.
