Funeral Services are Held for J.C. Nance

J.C. Nance passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at his home in the Markout community south of Forney. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Loyd Duckworth and the Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery with R.W. Mays, W.C. Maddox, Emil Holub, Early Haney, Harvey Johnston and Archie Martin, employees at Horn Williams Ford Agency in Dallas serving as pallbearers. Mr. Nance was a long time employee at the agency.

J.C. Nance was born Nov. 13, 1923 in Forney and had been a resident of the Markout community all of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Forney I.O.O.F. Lodge.

His father, the late O.L. Nance and a sister, Miss Opal Nance, preceded him in death. Surviving are: his mother, Mrs. O.L. Nance, a brother, Christy Nance, three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Robertson and Miss Bobbie Lou Nance, all of Forney and Mrs. Doyle Stevens of Dallas; and two nieces, Nancy Robertson and Adabeth Robertson of Forney.

Services 3 p.m. Thursday, First Baptist Church, Forney, Rev. Loyd Duckworth and Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Forney. Pallbearers: Employees of Horn-Williams Ford, Dallas.
