George F. Schlebach, Sr., Terrell area resident, died in a Dallas hospital Oct. 25, 1987. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Oct 26 at the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell and funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church at Talty with Msgr. Casimir Glogowski as celebrant. Interment was in Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell.
George Frank Schlebach, Sr., son of the late Joseph E. Schlebach and Anna Popp Schlebach, was born in Palo Pinto County on Aug. 14, 1921. He came to Talty community as a young boy where he was engaged in farming. He worked for the county and retired after 20 years of service. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army.
He was married to Anna Catherine Adams on Aug. 28, 1946 and to this union seven children were born. One child, Adolph L. Schlebach, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are: his wife, Anna Catherine (Kitty) Schlebach of Terrell; five sons, George F. Schlebach, Jr. of Mabank, Sidney Schlebach, Kenneth Schlebach, Robert Schlebach and Anthony Schlebach, all of Terrell; two daughters, Augusta Cascio of Garland and Shirley Colquiette of Oak Grove, La.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, John Schlebach of Garland, Emil Schlebach of Kemp and Ted Schlebach of Terrell; six sisters, Teresa Gaiser of Dallas, Veronica Garner and Christine Popp, both of Forney, Rose Smith of Calvert, Marie Bartosch of Orange Grove and Cecelia Bartosch of Robstown.
