Mrs. Florence Pamelia Lewis passed away at her home in the Lone Elm community about noon Thursday (Dec. 21, 1944). The body was removed to Anderson-Clayton Bros. funeral home in Forney and later carried back to the residence. The service was held in the First Methodist church at Forney at 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. F.A. Ray, pastor of the church, and Rev. L.M. Joines, pastor of the Forney Baptist church, conducting the service. Interment was made in Hillcrest cemetery. Active pallbearers: Lon Yandell, O.W. Reagin, Lawrence Bragg, W.N. Butcher, J.A. York, Frank Rhea.

FORNEY, Texas, Dec. 22 – Mrs. Florence Pamelia Lewis, 69, a resident of Forney since she was brought here at the age of 11, died at her residence here Thursday. Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Forney Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. F.A. Ray.
In addition to her husband, O.A. Lewis, she is survived by a son, C.S. Lewis of Forney; two sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Note: Florence Lewis is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney next to her husband, Oscar Adolphus Lewis.
