Mr. Tom Reed of the Lone Elm neighborhood, while out hunting Saturday night ran a thorn an eighth of an inch long in the ball of his eye, just below the pupil. He came in town Sunday and Dr. Garrett took it out. The operation was a very delicate one. The thorn was so deeply embedded in the ball that the doctor had to take a needle and slit the covering of the ball to get the thorn. It was taken out with very little pain to Mr. Reed, and no serious injury will result from it.
