Longview, Tex., Jan 14 – Mr. J.P. Yates, a prominent citizen and stockman of Forney, Tex., while riding a fiery horse ran against a cow on Fredonia Street in this place about 4 o’clock and was thrown violently to the ground breaking his left arm above the elbow. The bone penetrated through his overcoat sleeve several inches necessitating amputation above the elbow. He will be taken home to Forney to-day. He has a wife.
