Christmas Candlelight Tour of Historic Homes

On Saturday, December 3, 2005, the Forney Historic Preservation League proudly presents its Christmas Candlelight Tour of Historic Homes. This rare opportunity to view some of the city’s most beautiful historic homes is one you will not want to miss.
Eight homes will be featured on the tour this year. Four of the homes located on Center Street are the Megna/McKellar Home at 303 South Center Street, the Peterman/Penry Home at 501 South Center Street, the Baker/Hulsey Home at 507 South Center Street, and the Brooks Homeplace at 500 South Center Street. Also featured are the Stone/Broadfoot Home at 111 West Church, the Webb/Chapman Home at 314 Austin Street, the Buttram/Pinson Home at 311 Trinity Street, and the Potts/Reagin Home at 315 South Bois D’Arc. Parking for the Potts/Reagin Home will be available at Faith Crossing Church.
The tour begins at five o’clock in the evening and concludes at nine o’clock in the evening. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, aged 12 and under, or seniors, aged 65 and over. Tickets are on sale at the following locations: Bow Wood Florist at 201 South Bois D’Arc; City Bank at 120 East Main; Creating Memories at 200 South Bois D’Arc; and Flower Bascket at 201 North Bois D’Arc. Tickets may also be purchased by mail from the Forney Historic Preservation League, P.O. Box 317, Forney, TX 75126. Tickets may be purchased at the Brooks Homeplace at 500 South Center Street the night of the event or at Forney Historic Preservation League’s booth at Forney’s Hometown Christmas event.
Forney Historic Preservation League is a non-profit organization that supports the community of Forney by increasing awareness and appreciation of its heritage. The League maintains and operates the Spellman Museum in City Hall which is open to the public on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
