August 19, 1891 – Monday, Belle, the little daughter of Dr. and Mrs. N.E. Shands, had the misfortune to get her arm broken. She was in the yard with her little brother who was trying to pen some calves, when a horse ran over her breaking her arm just above the elbow. Her arm was dressed and put in splints, and she is now doing very well.
