Connor Sisters Become Brides in Twin Rites

In a double wedding at the First Assembly of God Church in Garland, Miss Betty Jo Conner was married to Virgil Ray Holt, and Miss Sara Beth Conner became the bride of Bobby Joe Roberson.
Mr. and Mrs. Holt will reside in Garland, and Mr. and Mrs. Roberson will live at 5303 East Side.
Parents of the brides are Mr. and Mrs. Joe C. Conner of Garland, Mr. Holt is the son f Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Holt of Mesquite, and Mr. Roberson’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Oba Roberson of Forney.
The Rev. James H. Stanley and the Rev. Leonard Wood were officiants for the wedding. Mrs. Rosemary Carter and William E. Ende provided music.
Mrs. Holt was attended by Mrs. Forrest Powell, and Mrs. Roberson’s attendant was Miss Norma Fleming. Debby and Brenda Grime were flower girls. Giles Lee was best man for Mr. Holt, and W.M. Clark of Forney was Mr. Roberson’s best man. Ushers were Bobby Clark, Travis Mitchell, Gene Stanley and Weldon Hathcoat, all of Garland. Dwayne Davis and Gordon Davis Jr. of Mesquite were ringbearers.
Mr. Conner gave his daughter, Betty Jo, in marriage, and J.C. Conner Jr. gave is sister, Sara Beth, in marriage.
The brides wore identical gowns of Chantilly lace and tulle over satin embroidered at the necklines with pearls and sequins. The very bouffant skirts extended into chapel trains. Pearl and sequinned tiaras held their fingertip veils of silk illusion. They carried colonial arrangements of carnations and a white orchid.
