Undefeated Forney Hi Eleven Nearing Title In District 16-B Race

Forney, Tex. Nov. 4 (Special) – The undefeated Forney High School eleven, coached by James (Rosy) Adkisson, took over undisputed possession of first place in the district 16-B race Saturday as the result of Richardson’s victory over Lancaster.

Undefeated in seven games, six of them conference contests, the Forney eleven has only two more district games on its schedule. Cedar Hill will play at Forney Nov. 17 and Lancaster comes here on Nov. 24.

Forney, victorious over Richardson, 20 to 7, has scored 201 points to the opposition’s 49. Forney beat Wilmer-Hutchins last week, 7 to 6.

Outstanding stars of the Forney eleven are Capt. Leon York, quarterback and ace passer; Fullback Johnny Layden, cousin of Pete Layden, the University of Texas fullback; End Ben Harris, who weighs 170 pounds and is 6 feet 3 inches tall, and Tackles Newt Whittemore and Frank Rhea.
