MIDLOTHIAN – Thomas Cheney ran wild here Friday night, scoring five touchdowns and leading the Forney Jackrabbits to a 76-0 rout over struggling Midlothian.
Cheney’s 70-yard touchdown scamper in the third period was the longest of the night, but it was challenged closely by Sammy Beeler who ran for three touchdowns, one a 56-yarder.
Jimmy Malone added two more touchdowns and Larry Bush and Billy Curry scored one each.
Don Morrison kicked four extra points during the night.
Midlothian was only able to make one first down during the contest and never got near enough to Forney’s goal to mount a serious scoring threat.
Cheney, who scored only one of his five touchdowns in the first half, seemed to have the field all to himself in the second two periods, scoring almost every time he carried the ball.
