FORNEY, Tex., June 2 – St. Martin’s Convent, conducted by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, closed here. A large crowd attended the graduating exercises. The educational address was delivered by Rev. P.H. Smythe of Greenville. The benediction was said by Rev. Lido Parroccini of Terrell, Rev. M.G. French of St. Martin’s Church, Forney, was master of ceremonies. The following awards were made:
Scientific Course – Graduating diploma and medal awarded to Miss Agnes Estella Sline.
Musical Course – Graduating diploma and medal awarded to Miss Margaret May Adams.
The Rev. M.G. French Christine Doctrine medal awarded to, first, Miss Agnes Estella Sline; second, Miss Hazel Walker.
Rosary for Christian doctrine, Miss Bessie Brennan. Drawn for.
The J.L. Adams medal for highest average, Miss Katherine Renwaldt. Drawn for.
The Tom Layden Jr. medal for application, Miss Mamye Allen. Drawn for.
Medal for attendance, donated by a “Friend,” awarded to Miss Hallie Wilkins.
A.N. Palmer diplomas for excellence in penmanship awarded to Miss Agnes Estella Sline, Miss Bessie Brennan, Miss Pearl Brennan, Miss Marie Haffner, Miss Florence Sline, Miss Hazel Walker, Miss Hallie Wilkins, Miss Katherine Renwaldt.
