Among the outstanding members of the faculty of the Forney schools is L.G. Cook, principal of the Grade School. Mr. Cook, born in Graham, Young County, served that county as county superintendent, assistant county superintendent and supervisor. He has had fourteen years experience in teaching and administrative work. He was vice-president of the Northwest Texas Educational association, and a former director of the Oil Belt Education Association.
Graduating from Graham High School in 1922, Mr. Cook received his B.S. degree from North Texas State Teachers College in 1935, and has completed work for his masters’ degree, with the exception of the thesis which he plans to write this summer. A member of Kappa Delta Pi, national educational honorary fraternity, president of the Historical society and other clubs and organizations while in Denton.
Mr. Cook is superintendent of the Methodist Sunday School and is popular in local circles.
