Among Forney’s pioneer citizens the Farmers National Bank has three patrons who have been continuous customers during the banks fifty years of service. These faithful customers are Sid Drake, L.L. Lindsey and George Riter.
Mr. [Sidney Johnson] Drake has made his home in Forney since 1887, is a member of the Methodist Church, and Masonic and W.O.W. lodges in Forney. His vocation in life has been contracting and building.
Mr. Riter came to Forney in 1880 from Indiana and has made his home here since that time. During his fifty years of residence he has been engaged in various businesses, but has spent most of his life looking after his farming interests.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Indiana, named for Lafayette and Lincoln, coming to Texas in Sept. 1877 to join his father who had settled on the Irish Ridge. He joined the Methodist Church in 1882 and has been a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Forney for over fifty years.
The Farmers National Bank considers it an honor to have been able to serve these three gentlemen during these many years, and hopes it will be their privilege to serve them during many years to come.
